The Five Love Languages

The Five Love Languages

My primary love language is probably
Quality Time
with a secondary love language being
Physical Touch.

Complete set of results

Quality Time: 9
Physical Touch: 8
Acts of Service: 5
Words of Affirmation: 5
Receiving Gifts: 3

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Seems like I've changed so much in the past year. I used to be big on Acts of Service & Words of Affirmation. Speaks volumes about the past year being one of extreme upheaval. I'm determined to stay my course in spite of all the rocks and boulders flung my way.

So many people to worry about but God always reminds me to let Him do the worrying and I just live my life the way He planned for it to be.

My IQ's supposedly above average though my EQ seems (to me) to be that of an unformed foetus. Religion versus relationship. IQ versus EQ. Oh boy...

Who wants ala carte buffet at my dad's restaurant?

#33 You Live

The Devil is in the details.

Sorry just an interesting pun I thought of.

The Devil is in (ignoring) the details.

Bet you missed that one.

'Cos there's fine print for living in sin. It says lifetime in hell.

Hell no man.

#32 God...

I feel so overwhelmed with Your provision. My portion You have freely given me. I am not worthy of what You have given. I'm so so sorry for being an unworthy child. I've always thought I never could go anywhere. You showed me how terribly wrong I was and how far You could bring me singlehandedly. I have lost many skirmishes but still You brought me back. In my weakness You have been made strong. In front of my classmates I am a mouse, but yet You still provide for me richly. I have made promises I have failed to keep, still You keep Yours. I don't know how to thank You or to exalt You further but from now on...

From this very moment I pledge to do my best in RP and for RP, let nothing stop me from achieving what You have set out for me. I thought I was a loser; indeed I am, for You are the greatest champion; champion of the weak.

I am lost for words. I had originally intended to update my daily walk with the RP people and my meet up with my secondary school friends.

Truly both were memorable. But You used a vessel that I had thought unlikely to bring me Your Grace. God, You are mighty. I will praise Your name, worship at Your throne.

God I want to be used by You mightily. Thank God for the unlikely vessel; may You work powerfully in the vessel too.

God. Lost for words.

#31 Early Morning Post

On the first day of school, before heading down to the "beloved" campus.

Because granny is starting to learn to quit smoking.

She's almost 90. Which reminds me. It's never too old mend your ways, change different, seek a different life.

After all, we know life isn't just about earth. *winks*

And there's something that's been on my mind.

I don't want to be a distraction or disturbance. I want to be an encouragement.

That's all.

#30 Good Start. Great God.

God has indeed blessed me much. It has been a good start from a great God.

I say this because of the immense pressure that has mounted upon my soul. Great trials, great rewards.

And I see a time of great struggle, just as in year 2007, with one difference. Start well end well.

Yesterday night was a tough night when doubts bombarded my mind. But Stephen reminded me of something; Leave the skeletons of the past in the past, bring the heart after God into 2008.

And reading A Purpose Driven Life recharged my spiritual batteries in the inner battle in my heart.

Fighting a war of doubts, its easy to be discouraged and beat myself to pieces spiritually. But to know,

Most amazing, God decided how you would be born. Regardless of the circumstances of your birth or who your parents are, God had a plan in creating you. It doesn't matter whether your parents were good, bad, or indifferent. God knew that those two individuals possessed exactly the right genetic makeup to create the custom "you" he had in mind. They had the DNA God wanted to make you.

&

While there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate children. Many children are unplanned by their parents, but they are not unplanned by God. God's purpose took into account human error, and even sin.

Knowing that kicks serious butt.

#29 Concern

I'm really concerned for the direction of each soul who tells me this,

"Now that the new generation of RP has risen up, okay liao."

The time is now. Not then.
The person is you. Not them.
The reason is Jesus. Not RP.

Just something from my heart.

I don't know words of impact.
All I know is this,
If you believe just a little,
You can move the mountains in His Name.

The time is not to be distracted by romance, desire, fame, ambition, fortune.
Sometimes people may stumble you.

There's only one true path.
A path of peace, joy, love and forgiveness.

If you don't feel any of these, then fall into God's presence.

And don't ever get caught up in the lie that you can wait a bit.

Longer you hurt, longer your heart festers.

#27 Three Miracles @ Caregroup

Today's Caregroup was a miracle making Caregroup.

I never knew miracles could touch down so many times in one day.

I made a lot of stupid mistakes the past few days.

Like making Sharon wait for 2 hours in vain.

And asking Chun Kwee, Jaslyn and Emily to meet at the wrong place.

And staying too late till i missed last train and last bus.

But one thing I did right in my life was to receive Jesus as my Lord & Saviour in my life.

And bring it to more and more people.

My New Year Resolutions upon personal reflection:

Change others by changing self.
Change habits; sleeping & eating.
Change attitude -> running away to standing firm by God's Word.
Change decision-making process -> looking to the long-term
Focus not on responsiveness of Man but on love for people
I should not substitute love for people with level of interactivity.
I should not substitute regular sleep patterns with naps, or regular meals with snacks.
I should not substitute integrity with justification.
I should never substitute love with ill-will or take it for granted.

Equation: If God = Love
& I = Son of God
Then I = Mini Love

Now for miracle testimony:

#1. Food.

You know when I saw the food that we had prepared for Caregroup, I nearly fainted of worry. I was afraid that there was not enough.

6 small boxes of dishes (curry chicken, honey-glazed chicken, tofu with prawn stuffing, tofu with chicken stuffing, kailan, deep-fried vegetables wrapped with flour) and 1 box of 2x crabs.

NOT ENOUGH.

My head was screaming. For 11 people.

Guess what?

More than enough. I even had enough for dinner. And it only ran out when I had more than enough.

God's grace? Definitely. Because if you saw the serving you would believe there was really not enough. I checked with many people. They ate their fill.

#2. My heart was bursting today. Today was the most ministering Caregroup in ages. I felt God smiling upon us. Talking to each of our hearts in ways I cannot explain. How I wish I spoke more to Him to understand Him better.

So, ya. I <3 u Jesus.

#3. Ke Jie/Melody, Emily's secondary school friend and renewed sister in Christ. Glad for you that you decided to allow God back into your life to grow you as powerfully as He does in the rest of the body of Christ. Its going to be a new journey for you. You will face set backs, but if you stick long enough you will taste the sweetness and joy that Christ brings. The tougher the trial, the greater the reward. I see great potential in you, to be the woman that God has in plan for you. Don't be afraid that you are different. Don't let anyone belittle you. You are you, wonderfully made in God's hands.

So ya, 3 miracles in a day.

God is good. God is love. This is what happen during Love @ Caregroup.
